Emuna provides genuine clarity; a higher spiritual sensitivity, a reason for all events and a solution to one’s difficulties. Emuna brings a person to ‘see’ what he originally believed in principle. A great reward to living a life of emuna is attaining a tangible awareness of the presence of G-d. One of the biggest values in learning and living a life of emuna is reaching a place of inner composure and well-being which comes as a result of knowing that there is a G-d who loves us and is intimately involved in every aspect of our lives. The shift to living a life of emuna needs to be taught and practiced daily. It is for this purpose the Daily Dose of Emuna was created. It is my genuine hope that you will develop emuna vision by learning Emuna together with the thousands who have already begun.
BS’D Our soul emanates from the purest source, from the Holy Throne itself. Therefore when we refer to the soul, we are speaking of that part itself that came down directly from Hashem in its purity – it was created, fashioned and breathed into each of us. In addition, it is preserved within us while
BS’D The Sfat Emet explains the three terms of “And if you will walk in My statures and keep my mitzvot and do them” (Vayikra 26:3) as corresponding to thought, speech and deed. These three allude to the three worlds of which each Jew has a portion and each is rectified by means of the
BS’D The Yesod V’Shoresh HaAvoda writes that Hashem’s 4 letter name is the basis of all the other Names; all of the Names, spheres, worlds and chariots on every plane of existence; they are held, arranged and carried by It. When His name is merely mentioned there is a shaking throughout the Heavens and Earth
BS’D How wonderful it is that Hashem gives our souls back to us every morning although we have tainted it since the morning before. G-d keeps offering us chance after chance to repair the previous damage. In Yaarot Dvash, R’ Yonatan Eibeshutz teaches that we learn how much our hearts must fill with gratitude to
BS’D Our reality is constantly changing and helping us to move forward. When you move house, your current home appears on the surface to be in utter chaos, confused and disorganized. However, we can view change as stressful, or we can view it as an exciting opportunity. We shouldn’t fall apart because of this move. Don’t
BS’D Though we may lack understanding of why we suffer, pain is not ‘senseless’. Emuna enables us to accept the pain and know intrinsically that somehow, in some way our pain is necessary for our spiritual repair and growth. This awareness and inner faith should help steer us away from assessing our difficulties and judging
BS’D The Chofetz Chaim ztk’l teaches that we are brought down into this world for the sole purpose of rectifying the world through recognition and acceptance of Hashem as the Creator. It is called a clarity of ’Oneness.’ Emuna enables us to dismiss all doubts about Hashem’s existence and the fact that everything that happens
BS’D Though each nisayon hurts, we can soften the impact by reminding ourselves that Hashem sends us these challenges to enable us to ‘pay down our debt’ and reach perfection. The Zohar teaches that we see through the pupil, the black part of our eye. This represents the idea that we ‘see’ and learn through
BS’D The Vilna HaGaon ztk’l teaches that if it were not for yissurim, we would not be able to stand in the next world. Our merits and misdeeds are weighed and our merits are lightened since they are often done with a lack of sincerity and joy. In contrast, our misdeeds are heavy since often they are
