Every Jew can feel G-d’s presence on Seder night and experience Heavenly delight.  What sweetness! G-d saved each of us personally from the plagues.  A special relationship began to develop since then; a unique feature of this bond remains alive in Yisrael until today.  We are a nation apart, divinely protected, distinct from the rest of the world.

Therefore the main aspect of preparing for the holiday of Pesach is to be b’Simcha; to praise G-d for all the hidden and revealed goodness and miracles in our lives. We glorify our Creator and express our profound appreciation for this once-a-year-mitzvah in which we work to remove falsehood on the inside through cleaning actions we perform on the outside. The truth be revealed – G-d wants us to clean, organize and reveal all the amazing things that have always been there -> His awesome presence!

Feel and heal exercise:

From within the bubbles and clorox spray find a moment to scrub down the real reason for the cleaning. We are working to clear away the ‘guck’ that hides the beauty beneath.

THE DAILY DOSE OF EMUNA WILL BE TAKING A BREAK FROM DAILY POSTS UNTIL MAY 6TH – THE BEGINNING OF CHODESH IYAR.

Wishing everyone a Kosher Passover filled with a taste of true freedom, joy and emuna!

What is your wish?

You may ask, ‘What does freedom feel like?’ Freedom is a sense of empowerment; living with the mindset that the Master of Creation set no limits on who we can be, how much we can achieve and how G-dly we can become.

Upon witnessing the wondrous miracles of the exodus we were given emuna; a clear awareness that existence is filled with G-dliness and purpose and we are one with this Oneness. Our lives are continuously infused with Divine assistance that cares and guides us every step of the way of becoming the best that we can be! That is true freedom.

Feel and heal exercise:

Close your eyes and envision something you wish for yourself to become or do. You are free to visualize, dream and pray for that reality and G-d is right there now and always listening attentively to you!

It’s time to leave

We are instructed to remember our exodus from Egypt since we are constantly in the process of ‘leaving’ Egypt. The universal message embedded in the holiday of Pesach is that we are always leaving Egypt; fighting off oppressive external forces and seeking inner freedom.

The Jewish people must live life knowing that they are not to be afraid or disturbed by life’s challenges and events; deep within they are to remember that G-d is helping to free them from their emotional instability but reminding them that He is personally involved in their lives.

Feel and heal exercise:

Being that Egypt is a state of mind we must be on alert of the signs that drag us back into slavery, ie. feeling stuck and locked down in negativity. Everyday we must remember to remove ourselves from this state of mind and see ourselves as being free to chose to think differently.

Get me out of here

Freedom from Egypt refers to psychological freedom. In today’s world, many are still enslaved; not physically in shackles and chains but mentally imprisoned. Often people find themselves bonded to certain beliefs and values unable to feel free to realize their greatest potential.

Freedom is essentially the ability to live out one’s mission and potential clear of oppressive and dominating outside forces. Mental confusion and emotional instability are two major obstacles that keep us in our own ‘Egyptian exile’. Time and again we become confused why we are here causing frustration and negativity.

The first step out is to remember there is a place called the promised land – we are not stuck in any reality. We are free to chose to want, think, speak, feel and do differently. We hold the key to our own freedom.

Feel and heal exercise:

Make a choice today to free yourself from bondage. Take one thing you know you are enslaved by and chose not to be enslaved by it.. even for just one day.. or one moment.. but begin to walk on that pathway right now!

Smile now for the Future

Though G-d was, is and will always be with us, the difficulty of galut is that we cannot perceive Him readily. We are never alone. Before the geula arrives, we must believe that G-d is with us He is keeping a detailed account of reward and obligation, but He still loves us. He wants us to turn to Him and bring Him into whatever it is we are currently facing.

When we experience challenges – such as marriage problems, illness or problems with children – we need to remind ourselves of His loving Presence. It is vital to avoid blaming others or ourselves for these challenges, since this blame drags us back into galut. The state of exile means a mindset of disconnect; forgetting that we are never alone.

Though there are times things may appear to be going wrong, we must have emuna that it is perfectly in sync with G-d’s Divine calculations. We are all traveling on a path to geula. Let’s allow the realization of the future gila (state of joy) we will all experience in geula fuel our current state of happiness now!

Feel and heal exercise:

The Sages teach we can draw from the future into the present. Think of the future redemption and how everyone will experience joy and healing. Questions will be clarified, confusion a thing of the past. Smile as you contemplate such a state!

I can see…

Rav Yechezkel Levenstein ztk’l teaches:
“If this is the era of Mashiach, a lot of effort is required since a person must prepare himself in order to be worthy to merit those days. He must acquire awe and knowledge of Hashem, a taste of spirituality, a connection to good middot. Then he may receive what is to be handed out in the days of Mashiach. Our task is to make ourselves into a proper receptacle.”

Geula is an unfolding of events leading to the revelation of the presence of Hashem. Geula is related to the word “giluy” which means revelation. The Malbim ztk’l teaches when the redemption arrives we will all be in a state of “gila” (happiness) – a place of renewed happiness that we have never experienced before. This joy will come as a result of discovering that Hashem has always been in our lives and that His love is everlasting.

Feel and heal exercise:

Close your eyes and ‘see what life looks like with eyes closed’.  See what you would miss if you lived life with closed eyes. Now open them and appreciate your eyesight and the ability to see what was there even when your eyes were closed – it was always there, just hidden. So too it will be with the new vision of the redemption.
