The Western world often focuses on quick-fixes. You don’t have the perfect spouse? Get one. Do you need a rest? Go on vacation. Do you have a health symptom? Pop a pill. Do you want happiness? Buy a new car. There is little time for contemplation growth or the slow but steady process involved in self-improvement and exploration of the root cause of things.
