It is crucial to remember that results from our prayers may not occur straight away, or even in this lifetime. We must not assume that our prayers were not heard or that they failed if we face the same weaknesses or challenges as we did prior to praying. We must persist, yet at the same time accept that there are many layers to each challenge. ‘Success’ is defined by Heaven, not us.
We learn from Rachmana Liba Bayeh (Sanhedrin 106:2) that G-d desires our heart and awaits the stirring of our heart to long to do better and reveal our G-dliness. If we long to improve and turn to Him for salvation, we have already ‘succeeded.’
